Enemy Types!

This is a list of the current motorcycle-riding enemies we're working on.  It doesn't include the various cars and trucks you'll do battle with.  This is straight from our design.doc:

 

  • Visually distinct enemy/friendly npc types:

    • Standard enemy, weak, vulnerable to every type of weapon

      • This could be our helmetless Rider_street.

      • We need at least two slight variations, so that he can be on both sides in missions like "help the green gang defeat the blue gang"

    • Standard enemy, weak, strong against swords

      • This could be our Rider_Street with a helmet

      • We need at least two slight variations, so that he can be on both sides in missions like "help the green gang defeat the blue gang"

    • Standard enemy, weak, super deflect

      • This enemy will deflect every single attack that you throw at him.  

      • He is vulnerable to grabs, kicks, bombs, deflects (which will leave him stunned) and guns

      • Obviously there's no intuitive way to know that someone is going to be really good at deflecting just by looking at him, nevertheless he should look distinct so that the player will be able to recognize him after the first encounter.

      • We need at least two slight variations, so that he can be on both sides in missions like "help the green gang defeat the blue gang"

    • Extra strong rider, equal defense to every type of melee weapon

      • This could maybe be the fat guy rider without a helmet

      • We need at least two slight variations, so that he can be on both sides in missions like "help the green gang defeat the blue gang, help the bandits defeat the ruffians, etc."

    • Extra strong rider, strong against swords

      • This could maybe be the fat guy rider with a helmet

      • We need at least two slight variations, so that he can be on both sides in missions like "help the green gang defeat the blue gang, help the bandits defeat the ruffians, etc."

    • Extra strong rider, strong against guns

      • This needs to be a strong-looking rider who has a kevlar vest.  Doesn't necessarily need to look like the same as the extra strong rider without a kevlar vest.

      • We need at least two slight variations, so that he can be on both sides in missions like "help the green gang defeat the blue gang, help the bandits defeat the ruffians, etc."

    • Extra strong rider, strong against guns

      • A standard police rider who's weak to everything, but swords (until you knock his helmet off)

    • Extra strong police rider (SWAT guy)

      • Police rider with a kevlar vest.  So he'll have added protection against every type of weapon.  

    • Juggernaut rider, really strong to everything, even kicks

      • A super huge, armored rider. 

      • So large that kicks barely move him

      • Armor/kevlar is very strong against projectile weapons

      • We need at least two slight variations, so that he can be on both sides in missions like"help the green gang defeat the blue gang, help the bandits defeat the ruffians, etc."
